Q1. My child has recently been diagnosed with autism or a similar disorder, what is the best treatment option?
A1. Studies show that the most effective treatment for children with autism is a quality Applied Behavior Analysis program that is implemented between 30-40 hours per week. There are also other treatment options that can occur with an ABA program such as speech therapy and occupational therapy, depending on the needs of the child.
Q2. What are your fees?
A2. Our fees vary depending on the service provided. Please contact our office for our current fee schedule.
Q3. Do you accept insurance?
A3. BCOTB is a Tricare approved provider and an "in-network" provider for both Cigna and Aetna. We also accept other medical insurance that is covered under the "Window of Opportunity Act" for children with autism. In addition, we accept personal checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express..
Q4. My child does not have a diagnosis but is delayed in the areas of language. Is this something that you can help us with?
A4. Absolutely, our verbal behavior programs are effective for children with autism and related disorders as well as children who have delays in the skills we teach.
Q5. Do you provide services at your center, our home, or our child's school?
A5. Most verbal behavior programs are implemented in the center although home therapy is recommended in specific cases. For behavior reduction programs, the initial visit is at the center and the subsequent visits are in the environment in which the behavior occurs.
Q6. What age group do you work with?
A6.We work with children from birth to 18 years of age that have special needs or display inappropriate behavior.
Q7. Do you only work with children who have a diagnosis?
A7. No, we also work with "typical" children who display problem behavior.
Q8. Do you suggest implementing other types of treatments simultaneously with a verbal behavior program such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, or RDI?
A8. We support our families who are interested in receiving multiple services unless the other treatments interfere or are inconsistent with our approach.
Q9. What qualifications do your therapists have in order to implement verbal behavior programs?
A9. All of our therapists have gone through an intensive "in-house" training provided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. We also schedule our therapists to attend a verbal behavior workshop within 6 months of service and conduct monthly performance reviews. |
